Jeff, my Mom is currently undergoing treatment at Moffitt for Multiple Myeloma. You will be amazed at how great it is there! Every type of cancer has specialists that are experts in THAT particular one. They are totally up to speed and involved with all the most recent clinical trials. In fact my Mom is in one now, and saw her myeloma #s drop from 15% to less than 1/2 a percent! One of the best things about Moffitt is that every type of testing you need is right there on site. During her first appointment they decided they wanted to add a sonogram of her legs & arms as well as a chest x-ray to look for clots, so the P.A. just called over to those departments and scheduled them for the same day so we didn't have to come back. No trekking around to different facilities/labs. We sometimes will end up spending an entire day there, but there is a Starbucks on the first floor and a decent (and affordable) cafeteria on the ground floor. Everyone there is caring, and focused. You truly are lucky to be in the Tampa area to take advantage of this amazing resource. You are in great hands there!
